Nov 05 - Winners of the Yorkshire Coast Self-Catering Holiday Award 2005
We were very proud to recieve this award in October 2005, which recognises the best holiday cottage establishment covering the Scarborough, Whitby and Filey area. To quote from the citation at the award ceremony ... "The judges were particularly impressed with the quality of information, the excellent first impressions, the high quality of all cottages available and generally the overall helpfulness of the staff.”

Wrea Head Country Cottages are frequently highlighted in the National Press. Here are some of the more recent entries:

Saturday/Daily Telegraph – 27, September 2004
Article entitled “Happy families, in any weather” in which Fred Mawer suggests some British properties where the facilities are so good, you may not want to go outside.

”Wrea Head Country Cottages, North Yorkshire
The 1997 winner of the Excellence in England Tourism Award for self-catering holiday of the year in England.
Location: ideal for both seaside and countryside: three miles from Scarborough, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park.
Accommodation: nine cottages, converted from old red-brick farm buildings, most with sea views. All open on to communal courtyards.
Facilities: large indoor pool and jacuzzi, and, in two acres of lawned gardens, a Three Teddy Bears Cottage (fully furnished with bears) and an adventure playground.”

Saturday/Daily Telegraph – 27, July 2004

”Where to Stay:
Wrea Head Country Cottages outside Scarborough are ideal for enjoying the seaside without staying among the crowds. Plus there is an on-site pool, as well as a playground and barbecues”

June 2003
Wrea Head as described by the YTB Yorkshire Forward's "Alternative Guide to Yorkshire":

"With awards all the way down to the beach, Wrea Head Holiday Cottages sit in the middle of rural heaven, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and just three miles from Scarborough. As well as the unspoilt views and the easy reach to the beach, you can also use the indoor heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. What more could you wish for?"
